STEVE ROGERS

- Operations Manager

Stephen Rogers was born and raised in New Martinsville, WV. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1976. Steve worked in the Chemical Industry for PPG & Chemical Leahman Tank Lines until 1990. In his spare time, Steve served his community as a volunteer firefighter. Steve's dream of becoming a professional firefighter became a reality in September of 1990 when he was hired by the city of Wheeling, WV as probationary firefighter.

For the next 22 years, Steve worked his way through the ranks to Fire Engineer, LT of the Fire Department, and retired in 2012 as Chief Fire Investigator. During his career Steve obtained his certification as National Registered Emergency Medical Technician and as a Fire Instructor for Fire / Rescue / EMS.

Steve served as an adjunct instructor for the WV University Fire Service Extension Office, as well as for RESA VI. In this capacity he taught industrial haz-mat courses for local industries and became familiar with OSHA regulations, which paved the way for his next assignment. In 2002 Steve was asked to serve his State of WV in their Homeland Security efforts.

State Homeland Security Director Neal Sharp appointed Steve as Operations Manager for the WV Regional Response Program. Steve was instrumental in helping this program achieve national recognition. He served in this capacity until 2005.

In April 2012, Steve retired from the City of Wheeling Fire Department, and began a new career in the construction industry. He was hired by Litman Excavating in New Martinsville as a Safety Coordinator. Steve was now back in his hometown serving the oil / gas industry customers. He was quickly promoted to Operations Manager, where he works today assisting the company in its rapid growth. Steve is a single parent with two daughters and two grandchildren.
